Reed Lake Trail

Reed Lake Trail.....

This was a long one.  8 miles total which took us almost 6 hours.  We met a few different groups of people on the trail that were turning back early because of snow further on up the trail.  But, we trekked on because we didn't think we'd probably ever be back to see the end of the trail, and snow in Alaska can really happen any time.  

The first part of the trail was fairly easy, but after the first mile we were mainly climbing boulders the rest of the way.  

We did get to see some interesting wildlife, plants, and mushrooms along the way.
