A few weeks ago the Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson held an air show open to the community.
Though there is SO much in the military world that we can never begin to understand or imagine, I think it's awesome that events like this are put on for the public.
For so many of us when things are out of sight, they're out of mind. For me, being able to walk through these airplanes and have someone explain what they are used for and what all is involved gives you a different perspective on what it must be like to walk away from your family and friends, get strapped in on one of these big planes, fly over the ocean with big military vehicles and food and weapon cargo, not really knowing what's going to happen next. Takes a lot of trust and
commitment. Thankful for the military people willing to serve our country!!
