Talkeetna

Talkeetna is a town in Alaska that had been on our bucket list for some time.  We had heard it was an "interesting" little town.  We finally found a time to go and were able to enjoy it with a couple of friends of ours Seth and Lydia, who are also originally from Minnesota. 

We found it to resemble Stillwater, MN in some ways, though with an Alaska twist.  Very rugged, country western style, but cute and unique...along the banks of the Talkeetna River.  

We spent the day roaming the strip, stopping at shops, eating some local food, and playing some cribbage while taste testing some local brews.  

Fun times with some cool people.  

What can we say...there wasn't much else to do here unless we wanted to hitch a flight with some climbers to the bottom of McKinley
