The Ceremonial Start of the Iditarod Race 2015. They ended up having to haul snow into Anchorage for the event, as we nearly had a snowless winter.
We were excited to see Dallas Seavey (seen below), as we had been watching a few episodes of Ultimate Survival Alaska that he was in prior to this day. He was the winner of the race again this year.
We had yet to see a spectacular show of the northern lights in Alaska until just a couple weeks before we moved. We drove up to Hatcher Pass about an hour outside the city to see this show. Watching them along the drive was amazing!! Of course the other colors disappeared once we stopped the car to take pictures, but it's something we will never forget!
