This hike is about an hour and a half south of Anchorage near the town of Whittier, AK. In order to get there, we had to drive through a one way tunnel straight through the bottom of a mountain. The trailhead was just on the other side of the tunnel. We weren't quite ready however to see that the trail was still entirely covered in snow. Not just a little, but several feet of snow. Anchorage only has the giant snow piles left, so we weren't prepared with snow boots. Needless to say, by the end of the hike my socks were soaked.
We kept hiking and hiking thinking the glacier was right up at the top of the next peak, only to find another peak at the top. But, once we got to the top it was amazing. I have never seen anything like this before.
