One of my old roommates from MN has a sister who also lives in Anchorage. So, conveniently we had another visitor in town this summer:)
We went out to hike the Wolverine Trail in Anchorage. It was a great day to hike. Beautiful fall scenery. Temps were a bit cool near the ridge of the mountain, but we found a nice picnic spot near some bushes to keep the wind off of us.
Fall in Alaska has been an adjustment. Instead of spring, like the midwest, fall is the rainy season here. We've had several days of rain in the last month, though the rain held out for us this day.
We will know winter is very very close when we wake up one morning at the Chugach Mountains in town are covered in snow. They call it "termination dust" here. Meaning, within 2 weeks it will be winter in the city.
