It is our hope and prayer that among the traditions, the stockings, the fancy trees, the gifts, the chocolates, we can take a step back and be reminded why it is we celebrate.
Thankful that God had mercy on us to send his Son to save us.
For we are not worthy, yet we have a Savior.
This year, we decided to cut down our own Christmas tree.
In Alaska you can cut down a tree on state land.
We drove south about an hour in search for the right tree.
And we found it!!
Took a little trimming to make it fit.
Not quite the same looking tree as from a tree farm, but we love it!
Since the Christmas ornaments from home didn't make the cut while packing for Alaska, we made our own this year.
We are looking forward to seeing many of you when we come home to visit Iowa/Minnesota around the New Year!!
